Being a touchy subject, I was impressed with Chaltas' ability to handle the situation without being too descriptive yet still able to paint a clear picture with her chosen words in a poetry fashion. I hope Chaltas continues to write novels as she has a wonderful style that is very smooth and addicting. Because I Am Furniture was difficult for me to put down which explains why I finished it within 24 hours. I expect this book to be a winner with Young Adult readers.

Julia Pitau
Media & Intervention Technician
Denair Charter Academy
Denair, CA

It's funny. Nuh uh, I love this book! A visit to the daily arguments among children everywhere, Duck! Rabbit! is a quick read for those times when rational discussion of differing opinions fails. Is it a duck or is it a rabbit? I couldn't decide and my bet is that a poll of children looking at the illustrations would instigate quite a discussion. I would certainly recommend this book as a simple take on a complex issue - differing opinions deserve respect. There are quite a few adults who could benefit from the simple lessons of this story. The illustrations are wonderful. I do, however, continue to reread the book in an attempt to prove to myself that it's a rabbit. No, it's a duck! I'm anxious for school to begin. Maybe my students can decide - duck or rabbit. A must read!!! Definitely a 5 of 5 on The Picnic Basket scale.

I would love to review this book but never receive...

I would love to review this book but never received a copy.
